Her life was on the line.

An 18-year-old girl in India had to undergo emergency surgery after swallowing her cell phone during a fight with her brother.

“The dispute between siblings led to a turn of events,” an unnamed doctor involved in the surgery told the Times of India of the familial feud, which occurred last Friday in the Bhind district of Madhya Pradesh.

The brother and sister were reportedly quarreling over a Chinese-made cell phone when the incensed teen decided to end their spat in a bizarre fashion — by ingesting said mobile device.

“As tempers flared during their argument, she took an impulsive step by swallowing the cell phone,” described the astonished doc.

Shortly thereafter, the gal started suffering a massive celly-ache.

The doctor described how she started experiencing severe abdominal pain and persistent vomiting, prompting concerned family members to rush her to the Jaya Arogya Hospital in the city of Gwalior.

Upon arrival, surgeons ran a battery of tests on the teen, including a CT scan, X-ray and ultrasound.

They determined that they couldn’t extract the phone via less invasive methods, such as an endoscopy — therefore, going under the knife was their patient’s only option.

Fortunately, after a grueling two-hour operation, the team managed to retrieve the phone from the patient’s body, according to presiding surgeon Dr. Naveen Kushwah.

The teen is reportedly in stable condition following her phone-ectomy, which required 10 stitches to suture. She is expected to be discharged from the hospital soon.

Dr. Kushwah said this was the first time he’d encountered a case like this during his 20-year career as a physician.

In light of the freak incident, the surgeon is encouraging parents to exercise caution before entrusting their teens with mobile devices.

This isn’t the first time someone has swallowed an unusual inedible object of late.

In January, a 34-year-old man had to be hospitalized after eating a banana wrapped in a condom in a fit of rage — which resulted in a serious bowel blockage.
