NextImg:Sick tale of antisemitism at Origins HS again proves bad educators get free passes in NYC

There are no consequences for bad educators in New York City — not even those who enable Hitler-embracing teens.

On Monday, Origins HS Principal Dara Kammerman stepped down from her $170K-per-year position after turning a blind eye to horrific antisemitism at her Brooklyn school — but it was barely a slap on the wrist, as Kammerman then claimed a spot as a “valuable member” of Superintendent Michael Prayor’s team.

That is, she got kicked upstairs.

She now joins the disgraced ranks of former Harvard and UPenn Presidents Claudine Gay and Liz Magill as administrators who were shuffled out of power after giving antisemites free rein — yet left sitting pretty in cushy positions. (Indeed, Magill is actually getting a bonus job at Harvard Law this coming year.)

Kammerman’s tale is grisly: In July, Origins teacher Danielle Kaminsky and administrator Michael Beaudry filed a lawsuit, claiming they’d been retaliated against for bringing attention to students’ vile Jew-hate.

Kaminsky alleged students called her “dirty Jew,” told her they wished she had been killed in the Holocaust, vandalized her classroom with Swastikas and gave the Nazi salute.

And Kammerman reportedly failed to bring the hammer down on teens who marched through the school chanting “Death to Israel!” and “Kill the Jews!” just weeks after Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel.

Instead, the school seemingly punished Kaminsky, transferring her to a position in Richmond Hill HS in Queens that was set to expire in three months and slapping her with a poor rating.

Beaudry’s supposed sin was corroborating parts of Kaminsky’s reports; he also claims he was threatened with possible termination.

Kammerman didn’t even acknowledge the problem of rampant antisemitism in her school in her resignation announcement, nor did her replacement, Ahmed Elmaliki.

She would likely still be in her position had The Post not exposed the whole horror story.

That Kammerman remains on the Department of Education payroll is just fresh proof of how hard it is to get fired in the DOE school system.

The United Federation of Teachers ensures that the vast majority of awful teachers are sent to rubber rooms, and still paid, sometimes for years, rather than getting the boot.

The principals’ union, the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators, is just as dedicated to protecting even its worst members — including a principal who does nothing to rein in teens who are terrorizing Jewish students and teachers at her school.

Kaminsky’s troubles, meanwhile, suggest the main way to risk your livelihood in a New York City public school is to speak out against Jew-hate.
