When it comes time to buy running sneakers, stars are running to Hoka.
Jennifer Garner, Gisele Bündchen and Harry Styles — to name just a few — all own pairs of the athletic shoes, which have become ubiquitous both in and out of the gym in recent years.
The latter pop star was the most recent A-lister to lace up his Hoka Cliftons ($112, originally $140) — although they might have gone unnoticed thanks to the viral One Direction T-shirt he paired them with in his since-deleted workout mirror selfie.
But while Styles’ shirt choice might be nostalgic, Hokas are anything but a thing of the past in Hollywood.
In addition to the “Watermelon Sugar” singer’s more creamsicle-colored shade, the Cliftons — which were recently released in a new iteration, the Clifton 9 ($145) — also come in neutrals like black and more subdued shades of pale blue and yellow.

Meanwhile, Reese Witherspoon and Kate Hudson both own classic black pairs of the Clifton, which the latter used for an outdoor workout in 2021.
The brand’s Bondi running shoes — also sold in both men’s and women’s sizes — are equally a runaway hit with stars; Kylie Jenner posted a photo in the all-black version last year, while Kristen Bell has worn hers out and about on multiple occasions.
Britney Spears opted to take hers for a bike ride instead of a run, as she posed in the pale pink and gray version of the shoes last year.

In addition to having A-list fans, the sneaker label has also collaborated with big brands like Outdoor Voices — producing styles like the ones Emily Ratajkowski styled with a leather trench in 2020.
Meanwhile Bella Hadid (who was also among the first to dip a toe into the platform Ugg trend), instead opts for the brand’s sandals, the Hoka Hopara ($135).
One thing’s for sure, this running shoe brand has yet to run its course among A-listers.
