NextImg:Sherri Shepherd Suffers “Wardrobe Snafu” on ‘Sherri’: “You Can’t Have This Much Boob Out”

Sherri Shepherd suffered a minor wardrobe malfunction in the middle of today’s live broadcast for Sherri — and the talk show host handled it like a champ.

Just as Shepherd was about to walk out to greet her audience, the pin holding the top of her dress together came undone. When she settled into her chair, she said, “We had a little bit of a wardrobe snafu. In daytime [television], you can’t have this much boob out.”

Meanwhile, her wardrobe stylist Willie Sinclair III rushed to her side and got to work fastening the dress.

“Before the doors opened, Willie said it’s too much boob … so he pinned it right before the doors were supposed to open up,” Shepherd explained. “And I was standing there praying for y’all … and as the doors were opening up, the pin popped. I just pulled it and threw it out! And so as I walked out,  I could just hear Willie go, [gasp].”

She continued, “So he’s back here fixing it but he keeps pinning it in the back but I keep telling him it’s heavy. They’re going to keep pulling it forward. But we gotta do what we gotta do. So everyone, give Willie a hand.”

When they finally got the dress in the right place, Jawn Murray, the show’s executive producer, added, “This is the magic of live television, everybody!”

Shepherd — who’s no stranger to daytime TV after spending seven years as a co-host on The View and winning a Daytime Emmy Award for her work — officially began hosting her own show last fall after The Wendy Williams Show was canceled.

“I’m very, very, very fortunate that I’m going into the show with people who know exactly what they’re doing because live TV is no joke,” Shepherd told Variety ahead of Sherri’s launch. “That’s another thing that The View prepared me before – we went live every single day. There’s an excitement about doing a daytime talk show live with no net.”

And today’s episode of Sherri certainly had no shortage of excitement.

Sherri airs on weekdays at 10 a.m. ET on FOX. You can watch the full clip above.
