The Worldwide Leader has cut ties with the Pro Football Hall of Famer, The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand reported Wednesday, <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/07/18/sports/shannon-sharpe-rape-accuser-settle-bombshell-lawsuit/">days after he settled a bombshell $50 million</a> lawsuit that accused him of rape.

Sharpe, 57, <a href="https://nypost.com/2023/08/17/shannon-sharpe-will-be-on-espns-first-take-twice-a-week/#!">who joined “First Take” in the fall of 2023</a>, had stepped away from the network in April <a href="https://nypost.com/2025/04/24/sports/shannon-sharpe-stepping-away-from-espn-after-rape-allegations/">in the wake of the allegations</a>.

“This is a serious situation, and we agree with Shannon’s decision to step away,” ESPN told The Post in a statement at the time.
