Shams Charania’s phone is a big part of his livelihood as an NBA insider, so when he had his device literally snatched away Thursday afternoon, he seemed gobsmacked.
While appearing on FanDuel TV’s “Up and Adams” with host Kay Adams, the two were discussing Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s budding romance and whether things between them were real.
“I love love. I’m a fan of love,” Charania said to Adams, the former “Good Morning Football” host. “But you’re the NFL insider.”
That’s when Adams went for the valuable piece of merchandise, grabbing Charania’s phone.
“You wanna know how I’ll find out, this is Shams’ phone, everybody,” Adams said with an ear-to-ear smile.
Charania, on the other side of a table the two were sitting at, seemed completely stunned and appalled by the maneuver.
“This is a crime that’s been committed,” Charania joked.
“You are not playing man coverage on your phone, you want to talk a little NFL?” Adams said, taunting The Athletic and Stadium reporter.
“This is ridiculous,” Charania retorted.
“Is this where all the secrets are?” Adams asked Charania. “Can we just get a closeup of Shams and how nervous he is?”
Charania notably works a long schedule, typically reporting 17-18 hours a day and even pushing 20 hours during crazy periods in the NBA season, The Post reported in May 2022, so it would be no surprise if he was shocked that his phone was suddenly taken from him.
It’s not the first time the two have shared a playful moment together.
In November, Adams joked about if the two were in a hypothetical relationship and had kids in a segment called “Getting To Know Shams Charania.”
“So when we have kids. No I’m kidding! I’m totally kidding! When you have kids.”
“I’m not even thinking about kids,” Charania shot back.
Whatever happens in their respective personal lives, it’s fair to say something funny always happens when the two pair up in front of the camera.
