Selena Gomez? More like Scab-lena Gomez.
The young actress caught some heat after sharing what appeared to be a video from the set of her hit Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building.
“Missing and wanting @onlymurdershulu,” she wrote in the caption, tagging the show’s official Instagram account.
According to Variety, the social media post received 1.1 million likes before Gomez deleted it almost 15 hours later.
The post was deleted after Gomez was accused of violating the SAG-AFTRA strike rules by fans. The strike rules prohibit members from promoting “struck” work during the ongoing strike.
Gomez and her co-stars, Steve Martin and Martin Short, have not been conducting interviews to promote the series in accordance with the SAG-AFTRA strike.
Gomez was criticized for sharing the post, with one user commenting before it was deleted that it was “tone deaf.”
While some thought it was an “oversight” on her part, others noted that “smaller actors and writers depend on this as their sole source of income and they have had to keep quiet and follow the rules.”
Gomez has been credited as an executive producer on the series since it premiered in 2021.
Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building recently premiered on Hulu on Aug. 8, with new episodes premiering weekly as the trio of neighbors dive into a new murder mystery and a messy stage play.
The star-studded Hulu series also features some shocking performances from Meryl Streep, Paul Rudd, and Jesse Williams.
New episodes of Only Murders in the Building premiere on Tuesdays on Hulu.
