Singer Sebastián Yatra will headline this year’s Sounds of the Open concert during US Open Fan Week, on Aug. 25.
The concert will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in NYC, and fans can claim their free tickets via TicketMaster.
Last year, Colombian crooner Yatra released his third studio album, “Dharma,” which he began during the COVID-19 lockdowns.
The singer, 28, told People of the project: “I was pretty lost in that moment in so many ways of my life… [The] two and a half years while I did the album [were about] finding my joy once again and finding myself and letting go of so many fears and being able to overcome a lot of different situations that I was able to write down in this album.”
Z100 radio personalities Maxwell and Crystal will host pre-show festivities at the concert, which will also feature tunes by Miami-based DJ Citizen Jane.
The US Open’s Fan Week includes free access to the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center from Aug. 22 through Aug. 27, as part of the US Open Qualifying Tournament.
The main draw of the 2023 US Open then begins on Aug. 28.
The concert is being presented by Chase.
Also as part of Fan Week, former tennis champ Caroline Wozniacki will return to the US Open.
Wozniacki, 33, who now has two children with ex-Knicks player David Lee, will appear at Flavors of the Open — the annual food event before the tourney — on Aug. 24.
Hot new chefs slinging grub will include Kwame Onwuachi, Melba Wilson and James Kent, while veterans such as Alex Guarnaschelli, Josh Capon, Masaharu Morimoto, David Burke and Pat LaFrieda will also be on the scene, we hear.
Sports brand Wilson will commemorate a 45-year partnership with the US Open by giving away 10,000 junior racquets during Fan Week as part of the sprawling festivities.
