Sign up NowSean Manaea will make what the lefty and the Mets hope is his final rehab appearance on Tuesday for Triple-A Syracuse in what’s been a frustrating comeback.
“I just want to get out there and help the team win,” Manaea said Sunday, with a potential debut for the Mets coming Sunday in Kansas City.
If he pitches like he did down the stretch last season, the Mets will take it.
After lowering his arm slot in July 2024, using another lefty — Chris Sale — as a model, Manaea had an 11-start span in which he pitched to a 2.63 ERA before a clunker to end the regular season. And then he pitched well in three out of his four playoff starts.
