Ted Scott and Francesco Molinari are trying to turn the temperature down at the Ryder Cup.

After Scott, who is Scottie Scheffler’s caddie, got into it with Molinari, Team Europe’s vice captain on Saturday, he posted a public apology on his Instagram page in the form of a video.

“I’m here with Francesco Molinari. This guy right here has always been just a very sweet-spirited man,” Scott said, while standing next to Molinari. “We had a heated moment yesterday but what many of you don’t realize is we got over it by the time we walked off the 16th tee, it was over. neither one of us want to make this competition about us.

“We want to let the players go out there and do their thing. And obviously Team Europe is kicking our butts, and hopefully today we can make it a little more equal, have a better competition, give the fans what they want. But ultimately, I just want to spread love and joy. It’s a great competition, it’s great fun. This is a great man right here. Just want to say I’m sorry.

“Appreciate you and like I told you, I’ve got huge admiration for you and love you,” Molinari responded.

Things got heated on Saturday during the match which featured Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau against Justin Rose and Tommy Fleetwood.

Rose was lining up his putt on the 15th green when DeChambeau’s caddie, Greg Bodine, walked in front of him. After Rose and DeChambeau both made their putts, Fleetwood said something to DeChambeau while the group was walking off the green.

Molinari then put his hand on Scott’s shoulder and shouted at him in Italian as they walked up to the 16th green.

Both DeChambeau and Scheffler declined to speak to media afterward. The Post’s Mark Cannizaro reported that the former told both he and a reporter from the Golf Channel to “get the f–k away” from the U.S. team before Scheffler declined an interview in more polite fashion.

“I was ready to hit my putt [and] I didn’t feel like that space was being honored,” Rose told reporters. “I was waiting to putt. The boys were obviously working on their read, going through a lot of their sort of whatever, calculations and bits and pieces, so I sort of waited a few seconds and then I felt like they came up again and I was like, ‘It’s my putt, right?’ Or however I said it. I maybe made my feelings known [and] asked him to move.

“Maybe I didn’t say it as politely as I could have said it in the moment, but by no means was there any disrespect or anything like that. Obviously, it was taken the wrong way. I said to the boys, ‘If you want to say excuse me, please, then yeah, my bad.’

“It’s a shame that the match got to that point because it was actually a really great match.”

Team Europe went on to in the Ryder Cup 15-13.
