Fans showed up in droves on Friday at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., to support Scottie Scheffler at the PGA Championship following his stunning arrest earlier in the day.

Some supporters were photographed wearing “Free Scottie” T-shirts while others sported tops featuring Scheffler’s mug shot as the World No. 1 completed a 5-under 66 in the second round of the major.

The 27-year-old Scheffler could be seen passing fans at Valhalla wearing shirts that featured his mug.

Barstool founder Dave Portnoy, who made a $50,000 bet on Scheffler to win the second major of the year, promoted a similar style Friday in the wake of the two-time Masters champion’s detainment.

The ordeal began in the early hours of Friday morning and stemmed from a misunderstanding of traffic flow.

A fatal accident involving a shuttle bus occurred near the course and as Scheffler tried to maneuver around it, a police officer tried to get him to stop.

Scheffler was later booked and processed on four charges: second-degree assault of a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from officer directing traffic, according to ESPN. He is also accused of “dragging the officer with his car.”

Scheffler made his second-round tee time, which was shortly after 10 a.m.

In a post-round press conference, Scheffler said he was “pretty rattled” by the ordeal.

“My head is still spinning,” Scheffler said.

“I was pretty rattled to say the least…,” he also said. “I was shaking for like an hour.”

Scheffler is currently tied for third at 9-under and is just two strokes off the lead.
