Tragically, gun deaths among under-18s are rising dramatically in the US — 50% in the last two years. 

But the media already knows what’s not to blame.

That would be the pro-crime policies of woke (and in many cases Soros-backed) district attorneys and Dem-dominated legislatures in big cities across the nation. 

No, suggests an Axios article: It’s school shootings that are the real driver here. 

Bull. There were 46 school shootings in 2022, accounting for 31 deaths. 

Now take a look at New York City. Here alone, there were 16 under-18 gun fatalities just in 2022.

Why? 

Because in 2017, the crime-lovers in our Legislature passed the disastrous “Raise the Age” law, which basically eliminates criminal responsibility for anyone under 18. 

Since then, the annual number of teen shooting victims has more than tripled. The percentage of shooters under 18 has soared from 9.2% to 12.7% of a vastly larger total pool of crimes (enlarged thanks to other misbegotten criminal-justice “reforms”).

Or look at Philly, suffering under the whims of Soros-backed DA Larry Krasner.

There, 2022 saw more under-18 shooting victims than in 2015 and 2016 combined; 2021 saw a record high in teen gun homicide deaths. 

Even a quick glance at the map kept by the Gun Violence Archive (a nonprofit that tracks gun deaths yearly across the US) shows the bulk of deaths of under-18s clustered — no shock — in NYC, Philly, Los Angeles, San Francisco and other liberal urban enclaves. 

And they’re concentrated among black children. 

In 2021, for example, black teens and kids accounted for 46% of all underage gun deaths — almost all of them gun homicides. 

School shootings are horrific, but they’re not what’s driving this.

Rather, it’s kids getting socialized into crime by gangbanging older peers — and an overall climate of lawlessness. Advocates wanted fewer black people in jail. What they got were more black kids dying.

The effort to look away from the real causes — pro-crime policies undertaken in the name of “equity” — will keep on killing children until progressives wake up. 

If they ever do.
