Tonight’s episode of Vanderpump Rules is chock-full of shocking moments. Tom Sandoval sobs over photos of Rachel “Raquel” Leviss. Ariana Madix shows up to the same gathering as Sandoval. And, in what I consider to be the most jaw-dropping bit, Scheana Shay hints that she once participated in an orgy with … wait for it … John Mayer!

The surprising confession comes during a round of Never Have I Ever at Madix’s game night. After the Broadway star picks up a card and reads, “Never have I ever had a threesome with two dudes,” Shay admits that she was once involved in “more of an orgy situation.”

Back in her confessional interview, a producer asks when she was in an orgy, to which she says, “It was with an A-list celebrity,” before cheekily adding, “You know, once upon a time my body was a wonderland. I’ll say that.”

Shay doesn’t specifically name Mayer as the “A-lister” she had an orgy with — though he does have a hit song titled “Your Body is a Wonderland,” and she has previously revealed she was in a “throuple” with the Grammy Award-winning artist.

During a 2020 episode of the Flashbacks podcast, Shay said she met Mayer while working a private party at the Grand Havana Room in 2008. They reunited shortly after he broke up with Jennifer Aniston and began a “sexual throuple” with Shay’s roommate and The Hills alum Stacie Adams.

“This went on for about six months, that we hung out. We would go to his house,” Shay said, per People. “It just became, you know, kind of the three of us. We had a little throuple going on. But then there was, like, me and another her. Everyone always had attention.”

According to Shay, their throuple ended because she started to get “a little jealous” of how much he liked Adams.

“I was like, ‘Wait, I brought you into this, like and now you’re getting more attention than I’m getting, like what’s up with that?'” she recalled. “And then even after him and I stopped talking, they continued talking, and there were like a lot of things — like her and I had like a year of just awkward friendship falling out, but then came full circle a year later and … have never been closer.”

After word got out about her relationship with Mayer, Shay ended up getting fired from the Grand Havana Room because waitresses weren’t allowed to “fraternize” with members. She then went on to land a job at Lisa Vanderpump‘s now-closed restaurant Villa Blanca.

“So if it wasn’t for John Mayer, I wouldn’t be on Vanderpump Rules,” Shay concluded.

We’re going to need Mayer’s BFF Andy Cohen to unpack this with Shay the next time she appears on Watch What Happens Live.

Vanderpump Rules airs on Tuesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
