A home security camera captured the frightening moment a rare earthquake rattled New Jersey on Friday morning.

The shaky clip shows the wooded backyard of Jeremy Godwin’s home in Morristown as the 4.8-magnitude temblor struck.

“Earth shaking and rumbling here in Morristown, NJ for at least 25-30 seconds. #earthquake,” he wrote on X, where he posted the footage.

“Upon further review… think it lasted maybe as much as a minute. Caught the shaking on a security cam (might be some NSFW language),” he added.

Rattling and rumbling sounds are heard before Godwin is heard talking about the terrifying experience.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake’s epicenter was near Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, and could be felt across from Maryland to Maine, including the entire tri-state area.

There were no immediate reports of major damage.
