It pays to have friends in high places!
Sarah Silverman appeared on Live with Kelly and Mark on Wednesday, where Kelly Ripa reminded her of her role in 2003’s School of Rock, where she starred alongside The White Lotus creator Mike White.
“You played Mike White’s mean girlfriend,” she added.
While Ripa clarified that she personally didn’t think Silverman’s character was mean, Silverman added some context.
“I mean, if someone was living in your living room and not paying rent, you might be mean, too,” she quipped of Jack Black’s Dewey Finn. “But yeah, I love pointing out to people that Ned Schneebly is the guy who writes all The White Lotuses.”
Ripa and Mark Consuelos asked Silverman when White is going to cast her in the hit HBO dramedy, though Silverman wasn’t so sure that’s a possibility.
“He’s probably not,” she said.
Ripa insisted, “I feel like you would be amazing on White Lotus.”
Silverman agreed, “I love it. I would be amazing.”

Consuelos asked the PostMortem comedienne whether she’s ever called White to find out “what’s going on” and to secure the “scoops” on the show.
Silverman replied, “I loathe doing that because I feel like everyone must be asking him, but I did.”
Specifically, she “emailed” White after Season 3 to ask why viewers “didn’t find out” why Parker Posey‘s Victoria Ratliff “iced” out Leslie Bibb‘s Kate Bohr.
“Why did she pretend not to know her?” she continued. “Is it something that you didn’t get to and it got cut out, or what’s the answer? And he goes, ‘No, I was just showing that she was a bitch.'”
Ripa teased, “But he showed that in so many other ways!”
Silverman added, “Everyone was so good in that.”
