Sara Haines doesn’t often cause waves at The View, but she did manage to surprise some of her co-hosts — and her producer — today when she spoke at length about her “hot dad.”
The odd topic emerged from a conversation about Jack Schlossberg’s X account, of all things, where the grandson of JFK shares charmingly off-kilter tweets. His latest post appeared to puzzle a number of people, though, when he tweeted, “True or false: Usha Vance is way hotter than Jackie O.”
Jackie O is, of course, his late grandmother, which some people found bizarre. Haines could relate, though.
“Even when it’s family, you can still have eyes, though,” she argued. “My dad’s hot, and I say it all the time.”
Alyssa Farah Griffin agreed, “Your dad is hot,” and Haines repeated, “My dad’s hot. He just is.”
Sunny Hostin then piped up, “I have a hot dad, too,” and Haines couldn’t disagree, telling her, “You have a hot dad.”
Haines then returned to the topic of the original hot dad, her own: “My friends my whole life talked about my hot dad, and Brian thinks it’s weird,” she said, gesturing out into the studio audience as the camera pivoted to executive producer Brian Teta, who made a face of discomfort and said he does, indeed, find it “weird.”
Haines protested, “I’m not blind! I don’t wanna— I’m not attracted to him, he just hot. Like, I can see him.”
Hostin claimed that her friends were so into her own hot dad that they “always wanted to date” him, which made Griffin ask in disbelief, “They wanted to be your stepmom?!” but Hostin just confidently replied, “They did!”

Haines then one-upped her co-host by sharing a story about her friend spotting her dad shirtless when they were younger.
“We were walking up to my yard and my dad was mowing the lawn and had no shirt on and my friend Emily is like, ‘Oh my god, who’s mowing your lawn?’ And I was like, ‘That’s my dad!‘” she said in mock terror.
There must be something in the water in those Hot Table mugs.
