Saquon Barkley added some clarity to the nature of his ankle injury keeping him out of Thursday’s game against the 49ers.

Ahead of the Giants’ primetime matchup in San Francisco, Barkley told Prime Video’s Taylor Rooks that he’s battling a high-ankle sprain — though he noted “it was not as severe as it could have been.”

The running back, who was spotted on the field during warmups at Levi’s Stadium wearing sweats amongst his teammates, said it was a matter of pain tolerance.

With the Giants’ next game on Monday, Oct. 2 against the Seahawks at home, there’s plenty of time for him to get back on the field.
