San Diego cops are searching for an Australian-American woman who went missing after she seemed “agitated” with an unidentified male while on a video chat with her parents.
India Delilah O’Hanlon, 25, is said to be with “a known dealer with gang connections” and “unarguably under someone else’s control.”
She was reported missing last Thursday — two days after her friends and coworkers reached out to her parents in Morocco, to ask if they knew about her whereabouts.
They did not, but soon realized they were the last ones to see her — on a video chat on Jan. 16.
Over the course of the conversation, she “seemed distracted, high and agitated” by the arrival of an unidentified male about half an hour into the call, her father, Creed O’Hanlon, revealed on X over the weekend.
“She was agitated, could not settle and was avoiding eye contact,” the father recounted to The Independent.
“She told us that she had lost her job, was broke and was staying with a friend.”
He added that when the man, whom he did not see, walked in, India “immediately looked wary, maybe even frightened, she then said, ‘I gotta go’ and hung up.”
“Her mother tried to call her back, but no answer,” the father said. “That was the last time we saw her or had any kind of contact.”
Creed now fears that his daughter may be in danger, as she left behind her Social Security and credit cards.
He posted on X last week that he has a “general idea of where and with whom she is,” writing: “She is unarguably under someone else’s control and at serious risk.”
The father then went on to blast the San Diego Sheriff’s Department for its “lack of help,” claiming that the deputy who took his report “was dismissive of our concerns, suggesting she probably ‘went on a road trip without telling anyone.’
“But we have — and had — ample indications that this is far from the case and that she may be i) mentally distressed and ii) deliberately isolated by someone who is a known dealer with gang connections.”
O’Hanlon also told The Independent that he and his wife noticed a change in India’s behavior over the past few months.
“Prior to this, she was self-disciplined, committed to getting a tertiary education and looking after her health and fitness,” he said.
On Instagram, India is often seen getting drinks and strolling around the city with her friends.
In her last post from 14 weeks ago, the missing woman wrote: “It’s been a weird one and I am definitely not OK,” with a secret laugh emoji.
Her profile also describes her as “socially incapable, but hanging in there.”
India’s case is now being handled by the San Diego Police Department, after the sheriff’s office noted that her disappearance from the City Heights area falls under the police department’s jurisdiction.
They are now working to piece together a timeline of India’s disappearance and retrace her last known steps as the family also works with a private investigator, according to The Independent.
The Post has reached out to O’Hanlon and the police department for more information.
But on Monday, O’Hanlon updated his X followers to share that he and his wife “are now in direct contact with the detective handling India’s case.
“We have provided him with a lot of new information with which to track down where exactly — and with whom — she is,” he wrote.
“To everybody who has responded to our plea for help to locate our youngest daughter, India Delilah, missing and at serious risk in San Diego, my wife’s and my profound, heartfelt thanks.
“To quote a famous Australian boxer, ‘We love yous all!’ You have restored our hope.”
