The maid of honor of the bride who was killed by an alleged drunk driver paid tribute to her late best friend — while slamming the “stupid decision” that cost her her life.
Ashley Favret mourned Samantha Hutchinson, who was killed Friday night when Jamie Lee Komoroski allegedly slammed her rental car into the golf cart she was riding on with her husband, Aric.
She said her friend and soulmate of 15 years was killed after a perfect day in Folly Beach, South Carolina.
“It was everything she had dreamed for that day to be,” Favret told WBTV, adding that she was angry that “a stupid decision because of alcohol cost her life.”
Favret told the outlet that Hutchinson “brought light to pretty much everywhere. I miss her. I don’t know what I’m going to do without her.”
The 34-year-old bride was declared dead at the scene, still wearing her wedding dress.
Her husband and two others were hospitalized.
Komoroski is on suicide watch in jail after being charged with three felony DUIs resulting in great bodily injury or death and one count of reckless homicide.
She reeked of alcohol and told first responders that she had had just one beer and one tequila shot about an hour before the accident, according to an affidavit.
A warrant was issued for two vials of Komoroski’s blood after she refused to provide a breath sample at the police station.
She was driving at 65 mph when her vehicle plowed into the tragic couple, officials said.
