NextImg:Saints’ Foster Moreau announces cancer is in ‘full remission’

Foster Moreau is officially in remission.

The Saints’ tight end announced the news in a tweet on Monday.

“After a few tumultuous months, I’ve been blessed with the news that I am in full remission from Hodgkin Lymphoma!” Moreau wrote. “I’m so grateful to everyone who reached out to offer their love and support; our prayers were answered. From here I will continue to live my life as God intended AMDG.”

Moreau’s good news comes just over three months after his March diagnosis when the veteran NFLer stepped away from the game amidst playing the free agency market.

Moreau, 26, had a physical during his visit with the Saints –– he signed a three-year, $12 million contract with New Orleans in May –– when team doctors identified an enlarged lymph node in his left clavicle.

“Through somewhat of a miraculous process, this Free Agency period has been life changing for me…I’ve come to learn that I have Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and will be stepping away from football,” Moreau wrote on Twitter at the time.

“That being said, I’ll go kick this thing’s ass and get back to doing what I love!”

And that he did.

Through six to eight hour drip infusions and weeks of medication, Moreau beat his diagnosis –– and agreed to terms with his hometown team.

Entering his fifth year in the league, Moreau was a regular starter the last four seasons with the Raiders after getting drafted by the team in the fourth round of the 2019 Draft.

In the 2022 season, Moreau caught 33 balls for 420 yards and two touchdowns.

While Moreau’s complete return timeline is not clear at the moment, it was reported that the tight end fully participated in Saints’ voluntary offseason practice in late May.

The Saints missed the playoffs last season with a 7-10 record, finishing 12th in the NFC.
