tRY IT NOWINDIANAPOLIS – Liberty star Sabrina Ionescu won her second WNBA 3-point contest and completed an epic Liberty sweep.
Ionescu tied with last year’s winner, Allisha Gray, posting 25 points in the first round to advance to the finals.
Ionescu caught fire when it mattered most, registering 30 points for the win.
Only Ionescu, though, would be “disappointed” in finishing with the second-highest score ever posted in the WNBA 3-point contest.
“I missed a few easy ones there that I definitely could’ve made,” Ionescu said. “So sorry about that. But just happy to be here and obviously happy to have won with my teammate Natasha Cloud.”
Cloud bested a field of five players in this year’s skills challenge only a few minutes prior to Ionescu’s stunning showing.
Ionescu went into Friday’s contest to “have fun” and hopefully beat the 37-point record she posted in her last WNBA 3-point contest.

Thank you
She missed that mark by seven but was still smiling ear-to-ear as she held her glass trophy above her head.
Ionescu, now a four-time All-Star, was awarded $55,000 for winning.
