The Ryder Cup viewing experience from home wasn’t without a few hiccups Friday morning.
As the international golf clash got underway at Bethpage Black in New York, some fans griped on X about apparent audio issues and a delay from the USA Network broadcast.
“Why did USA network mute the Ryder cup crowd? I want to hear the screams of victory,” one user posted.
“The USA network live sound engineer is ruining the telecast – roars coming at least a second after the action. All this hype for a huge event, we get a huge moment from Bryson, and it’s fumbled,” a separate user wrote.
The THP Golf account also posted on X, “USA Network having sound issues at the early stages of the Ryder Cup that viewers have been waiting 2 years for, is something.”

Team USA came out swinging early, with Bryson DeChambeau’s electrifying first shot giving the Americans a strong start, but Team Europe has since rallied.
“We want him to do what he does,” Team USA captain Keegan Bradley said of DeChambeau on Thursday. “He got up there today and hammered one right in front of the green. Bryson thrives under this sort of atmosphere. For me, when I would go out on these first tees, I would be very nervous and didn’t know what to expect. I see Bryson and I can see him walking out there just relishing the moment and relishing the chance to get up there and hit that shot.”
Spoiler alert: DeChambeau did just that.

DeChambeau and teammate Justin Thomas are squaring up against Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton for Team Europe.
Europe is the reigning champion after taking the tournament in Rome in 2023.
