It’s official: Ryan Seacrest has spun his way through his first episode as the new host of Wheel of Fortune.

The famous presenter celebrated the occasion by taking to his social media accounts, posting a reel on Instagram and photos on X, both captioned “A glimpse of my first day at @wheeloffortune, and I’m still spinning with excitement!”

Seacrest is following in the unfillable footsteps of Pat Sajak, who hosted the show for over 40 years.

While Sajak will clearly be missed, fans are excited that Seacrest was the one selected to take over the hosting legacy.

“The sound we have heard for several generations in my house???????? Excited that you were passed the torch on this legacy,” one user commented under his Instagram post.

“It’s like your first day of school, so excited!! We will miss Pat, but can’t wait to see your debut! ????????????” another fan wrote.

“They couldn’t have found someone better. Good luck!” a third agreed.

In the reel Seacrest posted, he started by spinning the legendary wheel.

“Listen to the sound of this wheel, right? Iconic.” he said. “I find it soothing.”

He then walked his viewers through his first day on set, meeting the stage crew and producers of the game show.

“My heart is pounding, I’m so excited,” Seacrest told the set members.

“I couldn’t sleep last night,” he said. “I slept okay, but still very excited for the alarm to go off.”

He then walked viewers to a small hall of fame the show had set up on the premises, including the show’s Emmy awards and Sajak’s Guinness World Record.

Seacrest then attempted multiple failed heel clicks, and the video ended with him skipping down the Sony Pictures Studios lot with the message “to be continued.”

The two Wheel hosts hold a lot of respect for each other, as they showed online during their transition into their respective new roles.

“I’m truly humbled to be stepping into the footsteps of the legendary Pat Sajak,” Seacrest posted on X following the announcement of his takeover. “I can say, along with the rest of America, that it’s been a privilege and pure joy to watch Pat and Vanna on our television screens for an unprecedented 40 years, making us smile every night and feel right at home with them.”

Seacrest also revealed that one of his first jobs was actually working for Wheel producer Merv Griffin, which made becoming the host of Wheel a true full circle moment for him.

In a now deleted tweet, Sajak posted “I’m looking forward to my final season starting this fall, and then handing over the car keys to Ryan Seacrest in September of 2024.”

The American Idol host’s episodes won’t air until fall, despite Sajak’s last episodes already being released, per Entertainment Weekly.

Inevitably, there will be more wheel-themed behind the scenes content to come, and we are ready for it.
