NextImg:Ryan Murphy Initiates $500K Strike Fund To Support His Casts & Crews As They Face “Challenges”

American Horror Story franchise producer Ryan Murphy has announced that he has initiated the $500,000 Ryan Murphy Productions Assistance Fund “to support the exceptional casts and committed crews” of his shows that have been impacted by the ongoing writers and actors strike.

“Every story we’ve woven, each character brought to life, and every set constructed carry with them an inimitable thread of collaboration,” Murphy wrote in a post on Instagram announcing the fund. “As my colleagues face the challenges brought forth by the 2023 WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, the imperative to support each other is even more pronounced.”

He added: “In recognition of this, I am inaugurating an assistance fund that will start at $500,000. This fund stands ready to support the exceptional casts and committed crews of Ryan Murphy Productions.

Together, we will navigate through this chapter, and before long, we’ll once again create, inspire, and innovate within the industry we love.”

Murphy, who is one of the most creative and highest paid showrunners in Hollywood, had already made a strike-related donation back in May.

At the onset of the writers strike, Murphy was among a group of top showrunners who collectively contributed $1.7 million to the Entertainment Community Fund.

Currently, Murphy is slated to sign a deal with Disney once the WGA strike comes to an end and after his stint at Netflix.

Ryan Murphy Prods. has been drawing attention in recent months as three of its New York-based shows remained in production despite the writers strike, American Horror Story, American Sports Story, and the anthology spin-off, American Horror Stories.
