Ryan Clifford’s Mets’ entrance couldn’t have gone much better.
The new Mets prospect — who came over in the Justin Verlander trade — homered in his first at-bat with the High-A Brooklyn Cyclones against the Jersey Shore BlueClaws.
With a run already in during the first inning, Alex Ramirez smoked a double to center, to set the stage for the 20-year-old’s first Mets at-bat.
Clifford — now the Mets’ No. 6 prospect, according to MLB Pipeline — worked the count full against starter Mitch Neunborn before crushing a middle-middle pitch deep to right field for his 20th total homer of the year and 17th in the High-A South Atlantic League.
Two innings later, he worked a walk and scored a run.
Known for his raw power (graded at 55), the first baseman/outfielder was taken in the 11th round by the Astros in last year’s draft.
“Clifford is another good prospect who has feel to hit with power. Sneaky, really good prospect, great swing, should be a good offensive 1B when all said and done,” a scout told The Post’s Sherman.
Before he came to the Mets, Clifford racked up 20 homers with an .898 OPS in 383 professional at-bats.
He came over to the Mets with Drew Gilbert, who was assigned to Double-A Binghamton.
