A Russian billionaire couple have put more than $100 million worth of trophy Manhattan apartments on the market — and that’s in addition to a third condo they just sold for close to $15 million, Gimme Shelter has learned.
Valery Kogan, a Russian airport mogul, and his wife Olga, have listed their penthouse at 15 Central Park West for $65 million and their Versailles-style condo nearby at the Plaza for $38 million.
In addition, Kogan just sold a duplex plus a studio apartment at 515 Park Ave. for $14.5 million, which asked $25 million in 2020 and was last asking $16.49 million. (In February, the feds separately seized two different units at 515 Park tied to sanctioned Russian oligarch Viktor Vekselberg — along with other property tied to Vekselberg in the Hamptons and Florida.)
The 15 Central Park West penthouse is on the 40th floor and overlooks the park itself.
That unit asks almost three times more than the $22.71 million they paid for it in 2008. It has also been renovated in the over-the-top Marie Antoinette style that the Kogans are known for, including “24-karat finishings throughout,” imported onyx and wood, custom-designed floors and high-end touches “a regal unit of this caliber deserves.”
Raquel Vasserman — a lawyer with Korenblit & Vasserman, of Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, and a licensed broker with Gold Standard Realty — has the listing.
Also regal is the couple’s Plaza condo. That four-bedroom, 4½-bath condo, also listed by Vasserman, is decked out with “24-k gold trim throughout, venetian plaster, paneled walls, vaulted ceilings, fine chandeliers and wall sconces, inlay floors, paneled walls, custom cabinetry and … a castle-like turret,” the listing notes.
The home opens to a foyer and views of the park from the dining room, living room and library.
Building amenities include a concierge, a doorman, a gym, a spa, plus valet and maid services.
The pair bought the apartment as two separate units — 1007 and 1009 — for $26 million around 2007 and then combined them. (They own an additional unit that is not part of the sale.)
They had originally listed the Plaza condo for $45 million before the pandemic, and then pulled it.
As for their sold condo at 515 Park Ave., it’s on the 42-story tower’s 34th and 35th floors. The sale also included a 340-square-foot studio on the second floor.
The 5,000-square-foot duplex comes with five to six bedrooms, four full bathrooms, multiple powder rooms and Central Park views. Details include a private elevator landing, which opens to a double-height foyer with a sweeping staircase. There’s also a corner living room with a fireplace and a formal dining room with city skyline views.
Upstairs are four bedroom suites. The 340-square-foot studio apartment is for guests or staff.
The listing broker was Douglas Elliman’s Adam Rothman, who declined to comment.
The couple’s holdings also include a $250 million estate in Israel modeled after the White House and Versailles that they listed in 2020 — and made after bulldozing five separate homes.
The couple’s lavish spending knows no bounds, and they and once shelled out $3.5 million to have Mariah Carey and Elton John perform at their granddaughter’s wedding, according to 2017 reports.
