Welcome to Campobasso.
In 2022, Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos purchased a soccer team in the third tier of Italian Football. In a similar vein to FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham,” ESPN came along for the ride, documenting the married couple as they took ownership of Campobasso Football Club.
The result is “Running with the Wolves,” a four-part documentary series airing across two nights on ESPN. In the show’s trailer, Ripa tells Consuelos that a soccer executive is the role he was “born to play.”
Consuelos, who was raised in Italy, notes that he grew up watching Italian soccer and intends to turn Campobasso into a winning team.
The doc follows the Campobasso Wolves’ most recent season. Here’s how to tune in.
Episode 1 of “Running with the Wolves” airs on ESPN tonight, July 29, at 7 p.m. ET. Episode 2 will follow at 8 p.m. ET.
Episodes 3 and 4 will air back-to-back at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, July 31.
If you don’t have cable, you’ll need a live TV streaming service to watch ESPN live. Our favorite live option is DIRECTV, which includes ESPN in its signature CHOICE package ($59.99/month for your first month) or its MySports Genre Pack ($69.99/month). Both packages come with a free trial.
New episodes will also begin streaming on ESPN+ immediately after airing on TV. Right now, ESPN+ costs $11.99/month for a standalone subscription.
If you want to stream even more and save a few bucks a month while you’re at it, we recommend subscribing to one of the Disney+ Bundles, two of which include ESPN+. For $16.99/month, you can get Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ with ads; all three without ads costs $26.99/ month.
