NextImg:Rosie O’Donnell gave up Florida home next to Trump, lost out on $11M

If only Rosie O’Donnell held on a bit longer to her West Palm Beach pad, she could’ve made some real bank.

Instead, the actress and spirited activist was so quick to unload her Florida residence after Donald Trump’s 2016 election win, she barely broke even on the sale.

O’Donnell, now 61, purchased the vacation home — less than 6 miles from Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago estate — for $4.97 million in 2015. It came fully furnished.

Two years later, in 2017, she listed the home for $5.5 million. It eventually sold for $500,000 less at $5 million in 2018.

Made up of five bedrooms and 6.5 baths, the waterfront estate is now worth nearly $16 million, according to a Redfin estimate.

Homes in the neighborhood have last sold for upwards of $20 million. And on the other side of the water bank, they can go for much more.

The comedian and television producer had been vocal about her love for the property, which she once referred to as “a special place” where her family made “plenty of happy memories.”

Several past posts on social media show O’Donnell having a lovely time in the home, including chilling by the fire pit, hanging in the kitchen with her family, and spending time by the pool with her dog and daughter.

Occupying 7,600 square feet, the gated property comes fully landscaped with a pool, a spa, an outdoor kitchen and a fire pit.

Boasting 178 feet of water frontage, the home is situated on an acre of land.

It also comes with a separate one-bedroom, one-bathroom guest house.

O’Donnell, a former host on “The View,” has long feuded with Trump over the years. In a May 2020 interview with the Daily Beast, she opened up about their history.

Their public back-and-forth was sparked as far back as December 2006, when O’Donnell called the businessman out while co-hosting “The View,” labeling him a “snake-oil salesman.”

Firing back, Trump at the time she was “out of control.”

“I said some things about him — not nearly as bad as I could have said … but I just talked about him not being a self-made man, having money from his father, and saying he went bankrupt — and it made him go berserk,” she reportedly said. “He went on a tirade for a good decade that hasn’t ended today.”

She added: “I think he can’t let go of a strong woman standing up to him. He won’t let it die.”

Meanwhile, O’Donnell has been making a bevy of other questionable real estate moves in the last few years.

In 2021, she sold her longtime Saddler River, New Jersey home at a $1 million loss after five years on the market. The home was later demolished with plans to turn it into affordable housing units.

O’Donnell purchased the home in 2013 for $6.3 million and later sold it for $5.3 million.

Around the same time, she sold a waterfront home that was once part of her sprawling riverfront compound in Nyack, N.Y. at an $837,500 loss.

After 3.5 long and no-doubt dispiriting years on the market, she sold the three-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home for $1.36 million. She had paid $2.2 million for the property in April of 2003 — and that’s not counting whatever she spent on improvements and real-estate fees.

She then resided in a New York City penthouse that she purchased in 2017 for $8 million.

The duplex pad is made up of four bedrooms and three baths baths, and occupies 3,563 square feet.

This is the last New York City residence she has, which overlooks the East River and is now on the market for $8.3 million.

O’Donnell, who was raised on Long Island, now spends most of her time on the West Coast with her youngest daughter, Dakota, 10.

She bought a modern farmhouse for $4.6 million in the Beverlywood neighborhood of Los Angeles in late 2021, though only four months later sold it for a small profit.

She is now reportedly renting a beachfront home in Malibu, according to the New York Times. However, sources tell The Post she is renting in Beverly Hills.
