Rory McIlroy’s estranged wife Erica Stoll was photographed Wednesday in what is believed to be her first appearance since news broke of their divorce Tuesday.
In photos obtained by the Daily Mail, Stoll could be seen in a cropped T-shirt and leggings as she made her way to a Pilates class sans her engagement ring.
Her wedding band, though, appeared “firmly on,” per the report.
McIlroy and Stoll got engaged in Paris in 2015, one year after they were first romantically linked following his broken engagement to tennis pro Caroline Wozniacki.
When asked by the Daily Mail for comment, Stoll — who wed McIlroy in 2017 — replied, “No.”
McIlroy filed divorce docs Monday in Florida, with the filing stating his union to Stoll was “irretrievably broken.”
The pair have a prenup and are seeking split custody of their 3-year-old daughter, Poppy.
The four-time major champion ditched his wedding band at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville on Wednesday as he prepares for this weekend’s PGA Championship.
Prior to his press conference that afternoon, a moderator asked media members to avoid questions about McIlroy’s personal life.
“I believe you all saw the statement yesterday from Rory’s communication team specifically that he will not be making any additional comments on his private life, so thank you all for respecting his wishes,” the moderator said.
McIlroy’s team confirmed Tuesday that a divorce had been filed and that “he will not be making any further comment,” according to the Irish Independent.
His camp also “stressed Rory’s desire to ensure this difficult time is as respectful and amicable as possible,” per the report.
When asked by a reporter Wednesday, “How are your energy levels, and just on a personal level, how are you doing?” McIlroy responded: “I’m ready to play this week.”
McIlroy, 35, is a two-time PGA Championship winner, having won the major in 2012 and ’14.
He is riding a winning streak entering the weekend, coming off consecutive victories at the Zurich Classic, where paired with Shane Lowry, and the Wells Fargo Championship.
McIlroy will tee off Thursday at 8:15 a.m. with Dustin Johnson and Justin Rose.
