Ronald Acuña Jr. admitted he had some concerns as fans were rushing up towards him at Coors Field on Monday night.

Between the top and bottom of the seventh inning of the Braves game against the Rockies, one fan rushed the field to embrace Acuña.

Then, a second crazed fan ran up to the outfielder, the two got tangled up and Acuña fell to the ground as both men who rushed the field got detained.

“I was a little scared at first,” Acuña said through an interpreter, according to the Associated Press.

“I think the fans were out there and asking for pictures. I really couldn’t say anything because at that point, security was already there and we were already kind of tangled up, but security was able to get there and everything’s OK. We’re all OK, and I hope they’re OK.”

Braves outfielder Kevin Pillar, who rushed to his teammate’s defense on the field, was also grateful that Acuña did not get hurt in the incident.

“Thankfully, they weren’t there to do any harm, but you just never know during those situations,” Pillar said.

“They were extreme fans and wanted to get a picture, put their hands on him. But in no way is it appropriate for people to leave the stands, even more to put their hands on someone else.”

He is the -135 favorite to win the NL MVP on DraftKings, with Mookie Betts on his heels at +100.
