Gene Hackman, the two-time Oscar winning legend of the silver screen, was found dead in his New Mexico home at age 95, Variety reports.
Hackman’s career as one of Hollywood’s most prominent leading men included five Oscar nominations, including wins for Best Actor in 1972 (The French Connection) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 1993 (Unforgiven). Hackman’s resume spanned five decades until his retirement in the mid-Aughts after filming Welcome To Mooseport.
Hackman and his 63-year-old wife, Betsy Arakawa, were both found deceased in their home Santa Fe, New Mexico, authorities confirmed to Variety.
