American Pickers alum Frank Fritz died on Monday night (Sept. 30). He was 60.
The late reality TV personality’s co-star Mike Wolfe broke the news “with a broken heart” on social media on Tuesday.
“I’ve know Frank for more then half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny,” he wrote. “The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself. Who would have ever dreamed we would share the cockpit of a white cargo van in front of millions of people interested in our adventures.”
Wolfe continued, “Before the show we would take off together to places we never knew existed with no destination in mind and just the shared passion to discover something interesting and historic. We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home. I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know your in a better place.”
Fritz starred alongside Wolfe on the HISTORY Channel series since its 2010 debut until he eventually took a step back due to health problems, per TMZ. He was hospitalized in 2022, per an Instagram update at the time from Wolfe.
Per the show’s synopsis, American Pickers “follows the team as they scour the country for hidden gems in junkyards, basements, garages and barns, meeting quirky characters and hearing their amazing stories.”
The American Pickers X page also shared the news on Tuesday, penning, in part, that they “will always remember ‘the bearded charmer’ and his never-ending search for vintage motorcycles and bikes.”
“Our thoughts are with Frank’s loved ones during this difficult time,” they continued. “He will be deeply missed.”
Fritz’s other TV credits include Pawn Stars, American Dad! and American Pickers: Best Of.
