


Extreme Makeover: Home Edition alum Eduardo Xol died on Friday (Sept. 20) following a reported stabbing the week prior. He was 58.
Per a Sept. 24 press release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Xol passed away at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California, though his injuries date back to Sept. 10.
According to TMZ, the police found Xol injured in an apartment after he had called for help. Per Desert Sun, Richard Joseph Gonzales was arrested in relation to the case, and police have requested that murder charges be filed against him.
The late designer’s family issued a statement to the outlet, in which they wrote that they”are heartbroken at the tragic loss of [their] beloved Eduardo Xol.”
“As his family, we know that his kindness has touched the lives of so many,” they continued. “We ask for that kindness returned now allowing our privacy to be respected as we process our grief. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in Eduardo’s name to the Lupus Foundation of America as he spent so much of his life in the service of others.”
DECIDER reached out to Xol’s manager and publicist for comment, but did not hear back by time of publication.

Xol took part in the ABC reality series from Seasons 2 through 8. Outside of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, he also earned acting credits in the 1998 film Bravo, as well as the following telenovelas, per IMDb: Acapulco, Cuerpo, y Alma, Sentimientos Ajenos, and La Jaula de Oro. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he performed in Latin American TV music and video projects, too.
