Snowfall actor Alon Aboutboul has passed away after a sudden collapse. He was 60.
According to The Jerusalem Post, the prolific Israeli actor collapsed on Habonim Beach near Tel Aviv the morning of July 29. Lifeguards reportedly attempted to give him CPR but the lifesaving measures were unsuccessful.
Aboutboul’s manager Mark Teitelbaum told The Hollywood Reporter, “Alon was a brilliant actor, a true artist, an Israeli icon…but more importantly, he was a loving father of his four children, and a dear friend of mine and many others.”
Aboutboul was a prolific actor who began his career in 1980, starring in films such as Morning Star and Hapnimiyah. He later broke into the United States with a role in Rambo III in 1988, sparking a decades-long career in action and drama.

He also starred in the 2016 feature London Has Fallen opposite Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart. Other notable credits include roles in Body of Lies, The Blacklist, Sirens, and more.

He most notably starred in the FX series Snowfall as Avi Drexler, a deadly drug boss.
Damson Idris, who stars opposite Aboutboul in Snowfall, shared a photo of himself and the actor on his Instagram Story. “Thank you for teaching me so much,” he wrote.
Israel’s Minister of Culture And Sports Miki Zohar also shared a statement mourning the late actor.
“I was deeply saddened to hear about the sudden passing of the actor Alon Aboutboul, may his memory be blessed,” Zohar said in a statement on X.“Over the years, he portrayed a wide range of characters, bringing depth and emotion to them, leaving a profound mark on Israeli culture.”
