It was a birthday to remember for golfer Rickie Fowler and his wife, Allison Stokke.
As Stokke celebrated her 34th birthday on Wednesday during the first round of the World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play in Austin, Fowler capped off the day by topping the world’s No. 2 ranked golfer, Jon Rahm.
Competing in his first WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play since 2016, Fowler took down Rahm, 2 and 1.

“It wasn’t exactly easy out there today, but yeah, just got fortunate to kind of turn it around, get in control of the match there on the back nine, and just kind of kept the throttle down,” said Fowler, who currently ranks No. 59 in the world.
Stokke, a pole vaulter, later sealed Fowler’s victory with a kiss on the course.

With the 2023 Masters soon approaching, Fowler, 34, will need to reach the quarterfinals to qualify for Augusta, according to the PGA Tour.
Fowler placed second in the Masters in 2018.
That same year, Fowler popped the question to Stokke at the beach.

“Rickie, Justin Thomas, and I flew up to Southampton a few days early for the U.S. Open,” Stokke previously told Vogue.
“At the end of the day, we were the only people on one of the beaches, and Rickie asked Justin to take a picture of us.
“After a couple of photos, I looked over and Rickie was down on one knee with a big smile on his face.”

The couple tied the knot at the beach in October 2019.
Then, in June 2021, Fowler and Stokke revealed they were expecting their first child together.
They announced daughter Maya’s arrival that November.
“Maya Fowler…couldn’t be more thankful!! Happy Thanksgiving,” Stokke gushed on Instagram at the time.
Fowler included Maya in Stokke’s sweet birthday tribute Wednesday.
“Wishing my best friend, wife, and most amazing mama to Maya a happy birthday!! I cannot thank you enough for everything you do for all of us…happy birthday babe and we love you!!” he exclaimed on Instagram.
