Espresso with a side of violence? OK, that’s not amore.
Wild footage obtained by Italian news source Corriere del Veneto shows waiters brawling with customers at Caffè Chioggia in Venice, Italy’s famed St. Mark’s square.
Seven waiters and four patrons with a “foreign nationality” were involved in the scuffle, according to the local outlet.
The video was recorded last week by an English speaker who exclaims, “What is happening? Oh my God” as the fight erupts before her eyes.
The group of waiters and patrons push and shove each other before eventually crashing into a table and chairs.
One man attempts to shield himself by holding up a chair.
The fight reportedly began after several waiters pushed a customer away after a verbal altercation.
The foreign customers then fought back and pushed staffers nearby attempting to quell the situation, turning the smaller kerfuffle into a big brawl.
Waiters did not tell local media why the fight broke out.
Waitstaff dishing out punches to unruly customers is a global off-menu delicacy.
Earlier this month, employees at American pizza chain Toppers were filmed attacking a customer after he grabbed a server.
Jaw-dropping video shows four pizza-chain employees pounce on and pummel the patron after he refused to leave from behind the counter of the pie joint.
The insane footage opens with the man trying to grab a Toppers Pizza employee by the arms while the worker screams at him, “Get out!”
That’s when the ticked-off employee hurled a fist at the pugilistic patron — narrowly missing his face — which caused an all-out brawl as other customers looked on and jeered.
Meanwhile, in August, a fight broke out between customers and staff at a Florida wing restaurant after five women were accused of intentionally clogging a toilet inside the establishment.
A supervisor told authorities the women stuffed a restroom toilet with wads of tissue. An employee cleaned the bathroom. However, one of the women went inside the bathroom afterward, and the toilet was stuffed with toilet paper again, according to an arrest report obtained by Fox 35.
The restaurant supervisor then told the women they needed to leave since it was almost closing time. The supervisor then found out the toilet was clogged again, and the group of women became “irate” and began hollering.
When they were asked to leave, one of the women allegedly slugged the supervisor in the face and the other women joined in — kicking, punching, pulling hair and throwing things, authorities said. The supervisor sustained a cut behind her ear and bruises on her leg and arm.
When another employee rushed to aid the supervisor, one of the women allegedly slapped her and began to throw chairs. The fight was eventually broken up by other store employees.
As the women fled, they allegedly knocked over chairs and threw salt and pepper shakers. They were detained by responding police officers.
The women were identified as Kenisha Charles, 18, Tyesha Charles, 19, Keiyanda Charles, 24, Jasmine Cline, 26, and Jahleigha Smith, 20. They are charged with disorderly conduct, battery and criminal mischief.
