NextImg:Reporter slams ESPN cameraman for shoving her in LSU postgame chaos

Media coverage can sometimes turn into physical sports-like moments themselves.

Following LSU’s top-10 road 17-10 win against No.4 Clemson on Saturday night to open the season, Louisiana First News’ Chessa Bouche posted on X about an alleged unpleasant experience with an ESPN cameraman in the postgame media rush.

“To the ESPN camera guy who shoved me after the game bc I was in your way. All you had to do was say something, not physically put your hands on a female who is half your size,” she wrote. “There’s a thing called mutual respect in this industry & I’m solo doing the work of multiple people while y’all have crews for every game. Maybe next time just say hey move. Do better man!”

In response to an X user, who said “there is no distinguishing between females or males” in postgame scrums and “everyone is out there to do their job,” Bouche said the reported shove from the ESPN camera man wasn’t during a scrum.

“It was simply Brian Kelly walking off the field,” she clarified.

The victory at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina marked the first 1-0 start for Kelly since taking over the LSU program in 2022, following 12 years with Notre Dame.

Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier sealed the win for the Tigers after completing 28-of-38 passes for 232 yards and one touchdown.

An eight-yard TD pass to Trey’Dez Green with 12:18 left in the final quarter gave LSU its first lead of the game. LSU’s defense shut down Clemson in the second half, limiting them to to 151 yards.

Clemson was also held in check on the ground, rushing for just 31 yards on 20 attempts in the season-opening loss.

The victory gave LSU a 4-1 series lead against Clemson, including the 42-25 win in the 2020 College Football Playoff national championship game.
