NextImg:Red Sox booth erupts in laughter after radio voice sets off iPhone saying Jose Siri’s name

There were two Siris present at the Red Sox-Rays game on Saturday.

During the second game of the doubleheader, Red Sox radio broadcaster Joe Castiglione announced that Rays catcher Joe Siri was up to bat.

“So first and second, still only one out for Jose Siri,” Castiglione said.

But a different Siri answered.

It appeared that an iPhone in the booth with Castiglione picked up his voice, saying Siri, and responded as the iPhone bot usually does when hearing “Siri” or “Hey Siri.”

At the realization, the long-time announcer for Boston and the rest of the booth filled with laughter.

“Wait a minute, did you hear that?” said Will Flemming, Castiglione’s broadcast partner.

“I don’t know where that came from,” Castiglione said quickly before someone yelled “Siri” and he followed with a laugh and said, “That was Siri!”

“I’m not asking you, Siri,” Castiglione said. “Not this Siri. That Siri.”

“An all-time moment,” Flemming said on Twitter. “Who has a better laugh than Joe?”

The Red Sox got the first game win 8-5 but fell 4-2 to the Rays in the second game of Saturday’s doubleheader, now halfway through the four-game series.

The Rays took the series finale 6-2 on Sunday.

Boston sits in last in the AL East with a 30-28 record.
