Imagine going out for a night on the town with comedy superstars like Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy.
Well, Rebel Wilson did just that. The actor says she got to live out the dream in a recent appearance (March 2) on The Drew Barrymore Show. In a segment called ‘Behind the Scenes,’ Barrymore asked Wilson to share an interesting story or fact her fans might not know about some of her biggest movies. Wilson had some hilarious anecdotes to share from her time working on movies like Bridesmaids, Pitch Perfect and Jojo Rabbit.
Before they started shooting Bridesmaids, Wilson told Barrymore that Wiig took some of the cast out to a nearby strip club called Hollywood Men.
“We were all getting lap dances,” Wilson said. “It was wild, wild and crazy.”
Hilariously enough, Wilson says this was her very first time ever filming a movie in America. Bridesmaids later went on to become the highest grossing R-rated female comedy upon its release in 2011.
The comedian also opened up about her recent engagement to fiancée Ramona Agruma. Wilson says she planned her elaborate Disneyland proposal with the help of none other than Disney CEO Robert Iger.
“He’s the big, big boss,” Wilson said. “And I thought if he says yes, then it was meant to be and I was meant to propose that day in Disneyland.”
She went on to explain that she called Iger because she needed special permission to reserve the private area where she proposed. According to Wilson, the space was blocked off with topiary trees so the two would have some privacy, and a violinist was hired to play Disney classics.
“It was really romantic,” she gushed.
Wilson described feeling very “overwhelmed” as they enjoyed the park after they got engaged.
“I’ve never been engaged before, or proposed to, or proposed, so it was like such a huge thing in my life,” she told Barrymore.
