Real estate developer Edward Minskoff has sold his grand Park Avenue apartment for $7.4 million — a hefty discount from its initial $17.7 million asking price in 2022, Gimme Shelter has learned.
The buyers are Douglas Elliman’s Michael Lorber and his husband, Jeffrey Goldmuntz. Lorber declined to comment.
Minskoff’s professional portfolio includes 17 Jane St., where he sold Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence and her husband, the art gallerist Cooke Maroney, a $21.9 million condo in 2020. Minskoff and his wife Julie also moved into a 9,000-square-foot duplex penthouse, with a 2,000-square-foot private terrace, at the development. Minskoff also developed the glassy 51 Astor Place office building in downtown Manhattan.
Minskoff’s eighth-floor co-op, and Warburg’s new acquisition, is at 730 Park Ave. The four bedroom, 4.5-bath residence features a private elevator landing and opens to a marble-clad gallery. That leads to the unit’s public rooms — including a corner living room with a woodburning fireplace and partial Central Park views, plus a 20-seat formal dining room that connects to the butler’s pantry and a windowed chef’s kitchen.
Additional perks inside the handsome home include a striking-looking wood-paneled library with its own woodburning fireplace and a built-in media center.
Elsewhere, there’s a private bedroom wing that includes a large primary suite with two spa-like baths, a large dressing room and walk-in closets.
Minskoff bought the apartment for $210,000 in the late 1980s, according to reports.
The building, at the corner of East 71st Street, dates to 1928. Amenities include a gym, private storage and a live-in resident manager.
The listing brokers were Douglas Elliman’s Madeline Hult Elghanayan, who also declined to comment, and Burt Savitsky, of Brown Harris Stevens.
