The Rangers have a massive opportunity ahead of them. 

Winners of two straight overtime games, the Blueshirts can take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Florida Panthers with a victory Tuesday night in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final. 

The betting market is skeptical of the Rangers’ chances Tuesday — +142 at DraftKings — but that is nothing new to this team.

The Rangers are 3-1 in playoff games in which they’ve closed +130 or longer. 

While it does make sense that the betting market is taking a stand with the Panthers — especially after the Rangers were outplayed in Game 3, but stole the win — it also offers opportunity for punters looking to back a side that is built to win in those situations. 

The Rangers are now 4-0 in overtime and 6-1 in one-goal games in the postseason. That may seem unsustainable for most teams, but the Blueshirts are not most teams.

They have all-world goaltender Igor Shesterkin, who can stand up to a barrage, and they’ve got a roster full of game-breakers who can provide a moment of magic to nick them a win.

That formula has proven to work for the Blueshirts, no matter what the betting market says. 

The Panthers were terrific in Game 3, but they made too many mistakes against a team that feasts on them.

While there’s no guarantee Game 4 will play out in a similar fashion, feel pretty confident that the Blueshirts will hang around even if the ice is tilted against them all night.
