Rangers’ top stars, power play spark testy Game 1 win over Hurricanes

The Rangers picked up right where they left off.

They beat the Hurricanes 4-3 on Sunday afternoon at Madison Square Garden in Game 1 of their second-round series.

After sweeping the Capitals in the first round, the Rangers have now won all five playoff games so far.

Mika Zibanejad scored twice and Vincent Trocheck and Artemi Panarin each added a goal, and the Rangers scored twice on the power play.

Carolina scored with their net empty with 1:45 left to make the score look closer than the game was.
