A new coach, a new captain and a new outlook, however, have the Blueshirts feeling ready to redeem themselves.

“For me, from where I came from last year and these guys here, everybody’s looking for a fresh start,” J.T. Miller said on the first on-ice day of training camp last month, just a couple of days after the organization named him the 29th captain in franchise history. “I don’t think anybody wants to talk or even think about last year anymore. There’s so many new things and exciting things about this year that we’re just excited to turn the page and move on, but also let that fuel some hunger.
