NextImg:Rams vs. Cardinals odds, prediction: Saturday NFL picks, best bets

The Cardinals will learn a lot about themselves on Saturday night when they face the division-rival Rams.

Arizona has absolutely nothing to play for after being eliminated from playoff contention and losing to the Carolina Panthers last week.

Los Angeles has everything to play for on Saturday as the Seahawks barely squeaked by on Thursday when they defeated the Bears, 6-3.

The Cardinals’ defense has been horrific lately, allowing 6.3 yards per play in their last three games, which is the second-worst number in the league.

Expect the Rams, one of the league’s more explosive offenses, to have a field day tonight.

This game should be a coin flip according to every statistical category; on a typical day, the Rams are not a touchdown better than the Cardinals.

The Cardinals are 15th in DVOA while the Rams are 16th so the difference here is negligible at best.

Arizona’s run defense is particularly poor, allowing 5.8 yards per carry in their last three games, second worst in the NFL.

They are also sixth worst in yards per pass attempt allowed in that same timespan, and it’s not like they face the Lions every week.

Their last three games are against the Seahawks (six points last week), Patriots (29th offensive DVOA), and Panthers (27th offensive DVOA).

Frankly, it appears the Cardinals have given up on defense specifically.

They could play for your money in a primetime divisional matchup this weekend but it’s really hard to get there based on their recent performance.

Don’t touch the spread or totals here; instead, go with a player prop.

Puka Nacua is amongst the best receivers in the NFL and has cleared his projected receiving total in five of his last seven games.

Target an alternate line prop for additional value if the Cardinals’ still respectable offense turns this into a shootout.

Pick: Puka Nacua over 85.5 receiving yards (-110, Fanatics) | 125+ (+330, FanDuel)
