Raiders quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is being suspended two games in the 2024-25 season for a violation of the NFL’s performance enhancing drug policies, according to ESPN.

Garoppolo reportedly used a prescription medication but did not have the proper Therapeutic Use Exemption from the league, resulting in the two-game ban.

He will not appeal the ban, according to ESPN.

This news comes before the Raiders are set to release Garoppolo before the start of the new league year, according to the report.

That means whichever team signs him in free agency — provided he can land a job — will do so knowing he will not be available for the first two games of the season.
