NextImg:Queen drummer and founding member Roger Taylor wants $6.19M for handsome LA home

A Los Angeles home owned by rock royal Roger Taylor, the British-born drummer and back-up vocalist for Queen, has listed for $6.19 million.

Taylor co-founded Queen with Freddie Mercury and Brian May in 1970. Some of the songs Taylor co-wrote for the still-iconic group include “Under Pressure,” “Innuendo” and “These are the Days of Our Lives,” which became an impromptu tribute to Mercury after his death in 1991 at age 45.

For the past decade, Taylor and Adam Lambert have also been collaborating as musicians — and, since last year, as business partners in a separate venture. They were most recently bandmates in a Queen “Rhapsody” Tour that had more than 20 shows in North America last year alone. By last November, the pair also launched Wild New Bar in West Hollywood — a new LGBTQ+ nightlife destination.

Taylor’s lovely home, at 1521 North Kings Road, is a classic Spanish villa — built in 1933, and fully modernized and renovated. It stands on a third of an acre. He bought the property for $352,000 in 1981, according to records.

At 4,368 square feet, it comes with four bedrooms and five baths — and is a mix of indoor/outdoor living with privacy, thanks to a gated driveway.

The residence opens to high ceilings and decorative tiled steps. A gracious formal living room comes with vaulted ceilings, a large window, hardwood floors and a black marble fireplace. There’s even a “lodge-like” den with a stone fireplace, a wine closet and its own beamed ceiling.

Meanwhile, the main public rooms all open to a brick patio with a fire pit, an outdoor dining area and city views.

Back inside, the main bedroom and ensuite spa-like bath is located upstairs, and features a balcony overlooking the patio and lush landscaping.

The grounds, which feature citrus trees and vines, also deliver a pathway to a hillside spa. There’s also a lagoon-style pool.

Listing brokers Greg Holcomb and Tim Durkovic, of Douglas Elliman, declined to comment.
