A Florida college student was arrested for allegedly kicking a cop and throwing an elbow at a counter-protester during a pro-Palestinian demonstration on campus, police said.
Sana Abu Mohd, 19, a student at Florida Atlantic University, was charged with battery and battery on a police officer during the demonstration Wednesday on the Boca Raton campus, Boca News Now said in a report.
Mohd was part of a pro-Palestinian group on campus when she allegedly elbowed a pro-Israeli woman who was walking past her — with a campus cop looking on, according to a police report reviewed by the outlet.
“I then spoke with Lt. [Richard] Jacobson, who stated that during the march he observed Abu Mohd strike [the victim] with an elbow from the Israeli group,” the police report said.
“He then approached Abu Mohd and separated her from the march in an attempt to handcuff her and she raised her left leg and kicked him,” the report said.
“Lt. Jacobson then proceeded to open handily pushed [sic] her face down to the ground and placed temporary restraints on her.”
Mohd was taken into custody and transported to the Palm Beach County Jail by Boca Raton police.
She was still being held there as of early Thursday afternoon, police said.
The sneak attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists has sparked a series of pro-Palestinian protests throughout the country — many of which have led to skirmishes with Israeli supporters.
In the Big Apple, hundreds of demonstrators clashed in Midtown Manhattan on Sunday, as pro-Palestinian demonstrators stomped, ripped and burned an Israeli flag, while one flashed a swastika.
Three people were arrested, according to the NYPD.
Similar protests have since erupted in New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles and other cities across the US, as well as across the globe, including in Europe and Australia.
At least 1,300 people were killed in Israel from the weekend’s Hamas incursion.
Gaza authorities said more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed so far after Israel subjected the besieged enclave to the most powerful bombing campaign in the 75-year history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
