Violent anti-Israeli protesters at the University of California, Los Angeles, attacked a counter-protester and threatened him with a taser – as police also confiscated a large sword during another heated demonstration.
Shocking footage posted on social media Monday shows a woman attacking a pro-Israeli demonstrator as she tries to rip a sign out of his hands.
The man manages to protect his sign, but the woman yanks his hat off as she continues to aggressively accost him before a group of bystanders rush in and yell at the anti-Israel protester to stop.
Meanwhile, campus security stood idly by just feet away during the frightening confrontation, according to Cam Higby, who filmed the incident.
Two other protesters could also then be seen rushing in to try and grab the man’s sign, with one woman ripping it out of his hands.
The moment the man loses his sign, a taser can be heard as someone yells, “Physical assault!”
“Taser!” another man yells as the pro-Israeli protester flees from the weapon.
The woman who allegedly flashed the taser was detained by campus security and escorted away from the scene, KXN News radio reports.
UCLA did not comment if the woman was charged with any crime, nor did it immediately reply to The Post’s request for additional comment.
The taser incident was only one of several on Monday, with police also detaining another man walking his dog on campus after officers found a sword on the ground near him, Fox 11 reports.
A woman told the local outlet that she was injured after the protesters and counter-protesters clashed in a heated standoff as security tried and failed to keep the two groups apart.
“I’ve been frightened for days now. I’ve been crying,” said the woman, who elected to remain anonymous. “My neck hurts. My back hurts.
“What’s more frightening than the hate I saw in their eyes is the lawlessness,” she said of the anti-Israel protest on campus.
The campus encampment protest, one of several that rocked at prestigious universities across the nation, was organized by the Justice in Palestine and the UC Divest Coalition, which are calling on UCLA to divest all funds set aside for Israel.
In its latest statement from Sunday, university officials said they were “heartbroken” by the scuffles that continue to break out between the protesters and counter-protesters on campus.
“As an institution of higher education, we stand firmly for the idea that even when we disagree, we must still engage respectfully and recognize one another’s humanity,” UCLA spokesperson Mary Osako said in a statement.
“We are dismayed that certain individuals instead chose to jeopardize the physical safety of the community.”
