The woman who spent 43 days on the lam after allegedly killing professional cyclist Anna Moriah Wilson in a jealous rage tried to make yet another daring escape from her Texas jail Wednesday.
Kaitlin Armstrong, 34, had just finished up a doctor’s appointment and was being led by two corrections officers back to the transport vehicle “when she ran,” Travis County Sheriff spokeswoman Kristen Dark said.
The suspected killer ran more than a block into a residential area before the officers were able to recapture her.
It’s not clear whether Armstrong was wearing shackles or handcuffs when she broke from the deputies, but the department said the officers did not draw their firearms and were able to keep her in their sights for the entirety of her short-lived escape.
She was taken to a hospital for an examination after the incident and returned to her Austin jail cell.
Armstrong’s attorney, Rick Cofer, did not immediately respond to The Post’s request for comment — a staff member who answered the phone said the case is under a gag order.
Armstrong is awaiting trial for the May 2022 shooting death of Wilson, 25, when the pro cyclist was in Austin for a race she was among the favorites to win.
Prosecutors believe the former yoga teacher killed off Wilson after finding out her then-boyfriend Colin Strickland, also a pro cyclist, dated the victim while on the outs with Armstrong.
Armstrong was questioned by police but fled to the country almost immediately.
She was hunted down by US Marshals after 43 days in a Costa Rican hostel, where she was caught with two passports and a $6,350 receipt for cosmetic surgery.
The accused murderer drastically altered her face and used several aliases as she moved around the country while attempting to establish herself as a yoga instructor.
She pleaded not guilty to a first-degree murder charge during a July arraignment. he faces up to 99 years in prison if convicted.
It’s not clear whether Armstrong would face additional charges for her latest attempted escape.
