Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly “angry” over Prince William and Kate Middleton’s growing popularity in the US, a royal expert has claimed.
Sarah Hewson, royal editor of Talk TV, said the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at risk of being left “isolated” if the Waleses continue to expand their brand transatlantically.
Hewson told The Sun’s Fabulous that William, the heir to the throne, now has a “whole army of female fans” following Harry’s bombshell revelations in “Spare,” while Kate “looks like a Queen in waiting.”
“It could have very much gone the other way for Kate and William and I think they were very concerned about how the American public might respond to these revelations,” she said.
“But it looks from the polling, that they are siding with Kate and William.”
She went on, “When William was in America he was right at the top of the polls, even beating homegrown leaders like Joe Biden and Donald Trump.
“He has really raised his profile as a global statesman – this week wooing crowds in Singapore – and now has a whole army of female fans after he waded around in his boots in the Hudson River.”
“The Americans love her. So I do think there will be a sense of frustration from Harry and Meghan seeing all of this play out. I think they will be feeling isolated and I think they will be angry,” Hewson added.
The outlet adds that the Wales’s rising popularity was given a major boost after they hired a top Hollywood producer as the director of their organization.
The couple, who wed in 2011, have appointed Dame Pippa Harris as the director of their Royal Foundation.
Harris is no stranger to the Hollywood elite, as her production company made Oscar-nominated film “Revolutionary Road,” and she even served as the executive producer of hit BBC series “Call The Midwife.”
Harris will also serve as the director of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund Trustee Company.
It comes just days after sources told Closer magazine that the Sussexes are “fuming” over William and Kate’s star-studded connections stateside.
“You’d be surprised how many big stars reached out to William and Kate to let them know they have their support amid this feud with Harry and Meghan,” an insider told the outlet.
The report seemingly echoes PR expert Andy Barr’s recent comments about the Sussexes, claiming that they are “jealous” of William and Kate’s advantage submitting a trademark application in the US.
Barr told the Mirror that Harry and Meghan would be somewhat envious of the doors that would potentially open to William and Kate — should they wish to take on the States.
